Shout Outs
1. Ryann! Got her mission call to Meza, Arizona!!!! DØDTSKULT!! She is gonna kill it there!
2. Ryker played a soccer game, and destroyed, even with a slight injury. This kid is the only reason the name Shanklin will be remembered.

Questions
What did I learn from my companion this week?
I think it would have to be the importance of working hard and having a good time. Elder Greenwood is a hoot to work with and it seems that since we are having fun while doing the Lord's work that more people are willing to talk with us!

What is one peice of advice I would give to someone preparing for a mission?
STUDY PREACH MY GOSPEL! If you get on your mission knowing pmg you will be ten steps ahead. Learn it and love it. That book literally tells you how to do your job as a missionary. The first presidency has given you everything you need to do missionary work. Best book ever, besides the standard works. (Also study the standard works, especially the new testament, and the Book of Mormon)
People we are teaching
Well... No one could meet this week... So... We went out to find some new friends! It was nice to have some good conversations with people. The best one would have to be on the way back from Zone Conference we were all just sitting on the train chilling, and I saw this kid listening to music. I thought allright let's see if people here listen to the same stuff that we do in the US. Well he was listening to a song, and I had no idea what it was, but we had a great conversation for the next hour! His name was Dahklak. Awesome kid, and we even got to talk about the church, and he had a few questions about different things. He does live in Oslo though, so looks like the Oslo elders are going to have a new friend to take care of!
We also were able to visit a man who does not come to church so often. He has made some serious mistakes in his life, but it was amazing to talk with him, and feel the desire he had for true repentance. He was so excited to get a copy of the Book of Mormon, and asked us to come again. As we were sitting there talking to him, I could feel the love the Lord had for him. It was a humbling experience. To feel the love God has for his children regardless of who they are, and even regardless of what they have done. Before I probaly would have judged this man, and condemned him for his poor decisions, but all I could do was think that the Savior of the world had suffered, died, and risen from the grave for this man. When we realize that everyone around us is of divine origin, and that very Son of God suffered and died for them, we think differently and we treat others differently. Take time to look at others the way God would, life is truly better when we do.
The Ward
I love this ward! The members are so much fun, and I love talking to them. About 50ish people come every sunday and I just love the incredible families. The Isaksen family is awesome and their little kids just love to play and mess around. The ysa are fun to talk to and are hilarious. Honestly, i am just living the dream again! First Drammen, and now skien! Nothing could be better!

My Area
So porsgrunn is a nice little city, and it has almost a Drammen type feel to it. Really nice, cozy, homey feel, but still people to talk to. Love being here and talking to the people around. The plan is to start teaching a few more of them though! ;)

This week we talked a lot about following the prophet. President Nelson is incredible! Everytime I hear him speak I feel renewed and invigorated! He seems to radiate joy, peace, and excitement all at once. He truly is the Lord's prophet. This next general conferance is gonna knock our socks off for sure! I love this church so much, and I LOVE the men and women that the Lord has called to lead this church!
