Remember The Why-Oslo Week Thirty

Jesus Christ is the Why!
This week has been full of lots of hard work and lots of being tired! Literally the most tired I have been on my mission and it just doesn't stop! We wake up, work, go to bed, and repeat that! Then add the musical and all the other small things that I have to do as District Leader and you are in for some awesome times!

Shout outs!!!
1. Kennedy and her partner at thespian conference! I heard they killed it!
2. Brady! Husband of the Year award according to his wife!
3. The Youngest of the Shank clan Ryker! Just serving everybody and do what he should!

Questions and Answers

1. What is it like having the APs and STLs report to me? Well to be honest it is the same as others I think, but a little more difficult to get a hold of them sometimes
2. Book of Mormon Musical Details? It is in Nynorsk which is like Bokmål (The Norwegian most people speak), but Nynorsk is spelled more phonetically. The play can be on stage anywhere from two times a week to seven times a week. We are currently splitting it up between the other missionaries, but we still usually have it two times a week. However, every time the musical is happening that night we have to pack all 180 books with cards packed in each one! It is a party!  We try to have at 4-5 people outside each performance with books, usually one or two members along with the missionaries!
3. DId we watch President Monson's funeral? Yes we did and it was very touching and the words that were said showed the character of President Monson perfectly!

Pdays
Alright so last Monday we went with the Sandvika Elders to the Opera house and saw the sunset! Way beautiful and we had a fun time walking, laughing, and telling stories!
This Monday we went to an old fort here in Oslo that was built in the 1300s way cool! Lots of cannons and guys walking around with big guns! So cool to see a little bit more history about Norway!

Kenneth! (Code name)

So Kenneth was the man we met out banking a couple nights ago! We went back to his house for the appointment we had and he welcomed us in! He got us some water and some coconut macaroons! Way nice and his eight year old daughter was there for the first little bit, until she got bored. The lesson went way well and the spirit was soooooo strong!!! He told us he has a sambor, which is when you live with someone and they are technically your wife, but you are not married. However he has a super awesome desire to find the truth and loves his family so much! Hands down one of my favorite people to work with right now! Also right before we left he gave us homemade honey that he made with his own bees!

Book of Mormon Musical

We did the musical with Axle and Jacob again it was super fun and we got all 180 books! Usually we only have 150 but since we have been running out we decided to bump it up and it paid off!! The play however did get out like 25 minutes late so we did not get to bed until 12:30! Wohoo Musical!!! We also did the musical last night and then just went and stayed at the APs apartment and got to bed around 11:30! This morning we woke up at 5 o'clock and did Ab ripper with the APs right before they had to go to Trondheim! Party Party! I am so tired...

Dinuguan

So we had a middag with a part member Filipino family and they fed us Dinuguan, a delicacy in the Philippines. For those of you who do not know what this is, sorry but I am sworn to secrecy to never tell a soul until they have eaten it. To be honest it was not that bad until they told us what was in it... then it did not taste nearly as good... However we had a good lesson after talking about how God answers prayers! And committed the non-member father to read Alma 32 and pray to see if the Book of Mormon is true! Way good and Elder Egan did a killer job just owning the lesson like a stud!

The Why

This week I have reflected a lot upon what it means to love the work. It is sometimes hard to go out and do the work, I won't lie. Sometime you are tired, discouraged, or just not feeling like it, but that is when we have to realize the why. I have decided to focus on the why. Why did I come out on my mission? Why do I know I need to go out and find? Why do I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God? I have reasons for all of those and that is how I keep going. That is what drives me to wake up at 6:30 and work hard everyday! So this week just remember the Why!!

Dream Big
Don't Doubt
Give 'em Heaven!
