Putta Gutter-Porsgrunn Week Eighty Nine

Well Elder Greenwood and I have claimed the nickname "Putta Gutter" or in english "The Pillow Boys." We aquired it because after dinners with a few members we would hold a pillow in our laps for a little while, and the members thought that it was quite funny! So we are now the "Putta Gutter."

Anyways, this week I am just gonna answer some questions for my weekly!

Q:How are your lessons with your friends going?
A:Well this week we were not able to meet with anybody... it seems that everybody has boycotted us because we left porsgrunn this past week. Not really, but everybody was too busy to meet. Hopefully this week we can get some appointments and get the ball rolling! Arinze did come to church on sunday though!

Q:What was the most dissapointing thing that happened this week?
A: Well we found an awesome young father on the street the other day, and met his 5 year old son as well. They gave us there adress and said that we could come visit, but as of right now we have not been able to knock on their door when they are home... Kinda sad, but we will not give up hope!

Q:What is the hardest thing we had to do?
A:Honestly there was not anything too hard this week. I guess the hardest part would be not seeing the immediate blessings of hard work, but we will be looking for them this week! The Lord blesses his servants!

Q:What is one lesson that I learned this week?
A:I would say the importance of serving. We were able to do service and receive some service this week. We helped the youth set up for a dance this weekend, and one of the members asked if we could do a little more and help out. The member came up to us right before the dance was about to start and thanked us for everything that we did and told us that it took a large burden off her shoulders knowing that we were helping out! Then on sunday we were invited over to dinner to a single mothers home. We could not find a member to be with so the sisters told us that they would cancel middag with one of their favorite members to help us out! It meant a lot to us! We have pretty sick sisters btw!

Honestly I have felt that service is so important on my mission! That when we serve with Christlike love everyone around us not only becomes happier, but is drawn to what we have. When we offer love in a sincere way, whether it be through words or actions, hearts are softened and the spirit is felt. If you feel like you need a pick me up, try picking someone else up. I know that when we serve and help others, the Savior serves and helps us!
