This week was a fun week! I am just gonna jump right into the week!
This isn't Drammen!
I went on splits with Elder Garlick in Oslo on Wednesday and Thursday, it was a blast to past of the good ol' Drammen days. Right as we got to Oslo we rushed off to meet Arya, who got baptized on Saturday, and teach him so he would be ready for his baptism. Sadly the Bishop was on his way to Denmark, and so we had to meet with him at the center. Arya actually ended up going to institute with the other Elders, so Elder Garlick and I spent some time calling through the area book. I had a super fun conversation with a lady who said we could come over and talk about our church and drink hot chocolate! What great people we have in Norway! The next day we went out contacting, and during that we needed to buy some guitar strings so the Oslo District could continue to carol on the streets. When we went into the music store the guy that was there recognized us as missionary because he played the trumpet at the Book of Mormon musical! Crazy who the Lord will sent in your path!

Yeah I'm a lumberjack too!
On Satuday Jan Peder and Allison invited us over for dinner. We got a text from them that said we should probably wear preparation day clothing because we were going to go around their farm and look at the property. When we got their we learned that we were going Christmas tree hunting. We got our saws, and headed out to the woods. As we walked we found a nice tree for Allison and Jan Peder, and then got the great idea that we should cut down trees for all the missionaries. We walked away with four Christmas trees and then had a great dinner with them! Allison made some really great taco lasagna. The bus came in 30 minutes and we had already given our spiritual thought, so then we started drawing designs for a duck house. They are going to get ducks for their farm, and we all decided little houses for them. If you are wondering a duck needs 1 square meter for itself, and also windows cannot be at the same level as the duck because ducks are easily scared. Fun facts!
I also gave a talk on sunday about what happened before Christ was born. I decided to talk about three different prophecies and how they influenced people in the Book of Mormon, and how they can influence us today. My favorite thing to talk about was miracles. King Benjamin talked in Mosiah 3:5 about the miracles Christ would preform. Sometimes we wonder why those miracles do not happen today. The thing is they do, but we need to focus on the other types of miracles. Elder Hallstrom in a talk said this
"Today I testify of miracles. Being a child of God is a miracle. Receiving a body in His image and likeness is a miracle. The gift of a Savior is a miracle. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is a miracle. The potential for eternal life is a miracle."
We live in a day of miracles because God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He loves us and will continue to allow us to use His power to perform miracles in His name!
