It's A Wonderful Life-Trondheim Week Seventy Five

Well with Christmas poking its head around the corner, I thought I should try to be a little more festive! I will be staying another transfer in Trondheim, with the one and only Elder Stephenson

I am just gonna jump straight into the week here!

Lys for Verden Street Stand!

The Light the world stand was really awesome! We got their a little bit early to set things up. We had an ipad running with the video and gave out free pepperkaker, which are kinda like gingerbread. As people would walk by we would give them Lys For Verden calendars and talk to them about the church, if they were interested. I would say it was pretty successful, many people walked away with a calendar and very appreciative of what the church is trying to do this Christmas season. Also, we had several people who were interested in learning more! Crazy story time. I met this guy on the bus Friday night. He is from the Philippines, and he was going to the united states, California specifically, and we just chatted about that until he had to get off. Fast forward to a the next day at the street stand. I was trying to talk to some people, and then I look over and one of the Sisters is talking to him, and he is about to leave and say he is not interested, but I went up and started talking to him. It was cool to see that because I had a normal conversation with him earlier he was so much more willing to hear about the gospel! We will be meeting with him later this week!

Splits and Construction again!

Elder Baldwin and I went on splits and it was really cool! We decided to break up our contacting into 30 minute increments and then doing something like visit a member, or do a study! This way we do not get burnt out and can give it our all for those 30 minutes! As we were walking I saw a 20ish year old Norwegian guy. My direct thought was "Yeah, he is the one!" Turns out he actually was! His name is Mats! His perspective is awesome, because he explained his problem is not with religion, because the Bible teaches great principles, but with how people use religion. We explained the importance of the Book of Mormon and how it explains how we should use religion, with charity, patience, faithfulness! He took a copy and wants to meet after his exams are done!

This week we went to help a member tear down a cabinet and put some board on the ceiling and floor. Taking down the cabinet was fairly easy. I mean teenage boys are experts and tearing things apart, and we thought it could not be too hard to put down a piece of wood on the ceiling and floor!
We were dead wrong... The house was built a long time ago, and the walls are not actually perpendicular to each other. After shaving small pieces of wood off for about 30-40 minutes we finally got it done...

Knitting

I took a break from my sweater to knit a pair of mittens! They turned out kinda funky, but hey there is a first time for everything! It is very calming to knit, I would recommend it to everyone!

I read a scripture yesterday that really touched me. In 1 Corinthians 13:12 it says

"12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

Sometimes as mortals we do not understand. We do not understand why this trial is happening to us, why we are asked to accomplish a task that seems impossible, or simply why are we here. The thing is, sometimes it is okay to walk without 100%, pure, clean knowledge. As human beings we sometimes only have enough light to take one step forward, but do not hesitate to take that step. In this life we learn "line upon line, precept upon precept." It is our nature to learn that way. I continue to take steps in the direction of light because I know one day I will fully understand why I had to walk the path I had to walk. Then I will know my Father in Heaven as I am known!
