Kalkun (Turkey) -Trondheim Week Seventy Four

This week was awesome! Lots of exciting things, and I had a blast!

Question and Answer

How was the ward thanksgiving party? Food? Pie? Dessert?

The party was really really fun! Elder Stephenson and I actually took all of Wednesday night to visit members and invite them to the party on Friday. It was cool and we were able to get in contact with a few people who were really happy to see us! The party itself was really fun, and Elder McCourt, who i was on splits with, volunteered to give a speech about how thanksgiving started. He did a wonderful job for only having about 5 minutes to prep! I made a coconut cream pie and it turned about a lot better than I thought it would. After catching the coconut on fire in the oven. I was attempting to toast it, but i got distracted by knitting. Note to future self: Do not knit and bake at the same time. At the party we had the full nine yards, so that was awesome! Stuffing, Turkey, Gravy, Pie, mashed potatoes, you name it, we had it!

How was church? Have I spoken recently? Sunday Schedule?

Church was great and we had a beautiful music number by the choir! I spoke my first Sunday, but besides that I have not been asked to give my testimony at church. We usually wake up on sunday and have waffles for breakfast, then go to church so Elder Stephenson can practice the hymns for sacrament meeting or choir. Then after church we talk with people and then go get lunch. Do our studies and then hit the streets for an hour or two before we come back for dinner!

Ole

Well Brady already knows who Ole is. In fact him and Brother Leighton taught him when Brady first got into the land! He called us and said he wanted to meet on Saturday. Well Saturday morning I was in the shower wondering who this mysterious Ole could be, and then it hit me! The same Ole brother Leighton told us about in the MTC! Well funnily enough we went on splits with the APs on saturday, and both the APs were comps from the MTC. Elder McCourt remembered the story and we headed to Ole's house not really knowing what to expect. When we got there he was super cool and knew a ton of family history and told us an amazing story about his family and how they got introduced to the church a long ways back. He said he was not ready to be baptized right now, but that is definitely something we can fix! Lastly he showed us an invention that he had made, which could stop oil spills very effectively. Cool to see and we will see what happens!

Funny Stories
1. While contacting we helped a man catch his crazy dog who had been running around off his leash for an hour and a half. We said we thought his dog was nice, and he said "He is very nice, but dumb."

2. In the Four man we have a little too much fun... We had a bottle war and it was fun and no one was hurt.
3. At the Thanksgiving party we had a little quiz and the end, and my team won!
4. We brought 5 ingredient cookies, thanks Momma for teaching me how to make those, to our MMK and who is family who are sick. As we were making them our MMK sent a text that said "Our neighbors would love some cookies as wel ;)" We hurriedly made another batch and headed over! It was really cool because we got to have an awesome conversation with their neighbor and hopefully we will be over again to talk to him some more!

I have been studying a lot the Christ like attribute of humility. As I have studied something caught my attention. The scriptures always tell us that God will pour out blessings upon our head IF we are willing to follow His commandments and walk in His path. I realized that humility is the desire to follow that if. To do what the Lord has asked us to do in order to receive blessings at His hand. Humility is not weakness, but is submitting our will to the Father's will. In no way, shape, or form do we lose when we do this. When we submit our will to the Father's we accept a greater and more majestic plan for our life than we ever could create!

Sorry for the lack of pictures these past few weeks. No good reason except for the fact that I am really lazy, but fear not because I uploaded the pictures today!
