This week was a great last week in Drammen. WAIT! Did that just say last week? Yes folkens the time has finally come that Elder Shanklin is leaving the beautiful Drammen ward, and will be headed to take his throne in the North again! I will be headed to Trondheim, taking another area my brother served in and getting to experience another northern winter! OH YEAH!!!
Shout outs!
1. The R-man scored a goal this week at this Soccer game, and they beat the number one team in his league!!
2. The Baboons!! (This will be explained later)
Missionary Weekend
We found out on Tuesday that we would be helping at a missionary weekend. This was a Friday to Saturday thing, so both days were just packed. Friday night after a dinner with the Weggersen family we headed to the missionary weekend. We sat on a panel with some other returned missionaries and answered questions about missionary work and the gospel! It was really fun.
On Saturday though the real fun began. In the morning we had a work shop where every got a different group of youth and taught them how to teach the first lesson about the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. It was really fun, and then came the competition. Remember Elder Shanklin still likes to win, so I was very happy when I heard this was not like other church competitions where you everyone won. There was one team that would win, Our team name was the Baboons. The different challenges were the following: Geography, Book of Mormon Golf, Food, Hymn Charades, Riding a Child size tricycle, and Moving a fence through a obstacle course. We got last in geography... Sorry but i do not capitols to save my life... Second in Book of Mormon golf, and tied for first place in the food. However I had two twins on my team who were phenomenal at cycling on this tiny tricycle! We took first at tricycling. The last activity was carrying a fence through an obstacle course that was set up on a play set. We destroyed and took only 1 minute and 2 seconds. Second place took 1 minutes and 17 seconds. After having some waffles the results were announced. There was a 4 way tie for first place, but since we, The Baboons, had won three of the competitions we took the trophy! Metaphorically!
Saying Goodbye
Besides that I just took some time to say goodbye to the wonderful families here in Drammen. It truly has been the best six months of my life. The people I have meet and formed friendships with, have changed my life. I am really grateful for being able to serve a fourth of my mission in Drammen, sadly though it was not long enough!

I am very excited for the change that is coming! Going back up north will be fantastic! I can not wait to see what things the Lord has in store. Change is good, we can use it to boost ourselves and shape ourselves into a better version. Just as you have apple releasing a new IOS every little bit, we need to do that has well. Life can never be the same as it was the day before, so take every opportunity you have to make life worth living that day!
Hope everyone has a great week!
