This week was awesome! Filled with exciting events and a quick trip down to Kristiansand! This is gonna probably be kept pretty short, but hopefully the pictures will fill in the gaps!
Shout outs!
1. Blake! My boy is about to get in the grind and hit the mission field hard, after he takes a quick 6 weeks at the mtc!
2. The guys that randomly pulled up next to us while we were at a bus stop and started blaring normal music
3. Macy! Not only is she going to be a fantastic mother, but her birthday was this past week!!! WOOT WOOT!
Kristiansand with Elder Hansen
Well this was a great trip! Took a four hour train ride to Kristiansand, which allowed me to take a 3 hour nap! Tender mercies, tender mercies! After that we just went straight to work with contacting! I went with Elder Hansen, who was up in Alta when i was in Tromsø, so that was a fun little reunion! We had a blast just contacting on the streets! Asking people fun questions to grab their attention and just being full of energy. Lots of fun, and even got a few appointments, and a some phone numbers out of it! We then taught Raymond with the help of a member, and Raymond is a little quite, but the member really helped bring out some energy from him! It was a really good experience for Raymond!

Kristiansand with Elder Holyoak
Well with Elder Holyoak we got in some good finding! Elder Holyoak is a new misisonary only been out for 4 weeks, but he is incredible! His langauge skills are amazing, 10x better than what I was speaking at 4 weeks! Lots of fun and just a good time all around!

Just when you thought I was done
Everyone thought that Elder Shanklin's handing out Books of Mormon and the musical days were over, but in reality I got to do it twice in Ksand! Super fun and I just loved the energy that comes from every time that I do that! We gave out a lot of books and had a blast while doing it!
Ali
We got to teach Ali on Saturday and help him understand why the church has certain commandments. Ali felt like they restricted his freedom, but we had an incredible member explain how true freedom comes from following the commandments! So powerful to have the member testify of truth! We finished teaching the first lesson and it was great! A baptismal date should be coming soon! Fun fact is that Ali had read half the Book of Mormon in 2 weeks... Pretty awesome if you ask me!
For all you in South America, I feel you
It has been wayyyyyy toooo hot to be Norway.... It was like 90 something degrees on sunday and for those of you thinking, but Elder Shanklin you are in a first world country it can't be that bad. Remember I am in Norway, it never gets this hot, in fact none of the building really have air conditioning... That lead to me sweating through my suit in church... It was so hot in church... We had a member that had to be taken in an ambulance and we had to cut sacrament meeting short! So for those of you in South America sweating all the time, I feel ya!

Well i think that ends this week of adventures with Elder Shanklin for this week! I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember what the true meaning of Freedom is! Freedom is not found in disobedience, because that just leads to addiction and being a slave. God is all about freedom, while satan is all about addiction! Our Father in Heaven loves us! He wants the best for us! Sometimes as mortals we do not understand why God would allow certain things to happen or why he would command us to do certain things. Remember that God is allpowerful, all knowing, but most importantly he is all loving! Trust in Him, he is a the way to happiness!
