2. Kennedy for getting A cast!! WOOT WOOT!!!
3. Michigan Wolverines! We made it to the Championship game, although we lost I still count that as a small victory!
4. Sister Pond! Check Ring 3 for the reason!
Question and Answer
Q:Favorite Part of Conference?
A:The Solemn Assembly! Such a powerful spirit! Another spiritual confirmation that Russel M. Nelson is the Prophet in our day!
Q:Are we still getting snow?
A: No, but sometimes sleet or rain! Snow is still on the ground though, just kinda want that gone as soon as possible!
Q:How is the work going?
| Eldste Rumsey, Eldste Shanklin and Eldste Memmott |
A:I do not want to answer this twice, so please read the next paragraphs to get an answer!
Ring 1! Marius! Norwegian!
Marius is an awesome guy from Northern Norway, he comes from a small town just north of Tromsø! We stopped him on the street and he told us that he was christian! After explaining what the Book of Mormon was I asked what he thought about us having a another book that is God's word? He said he was a little skeptical, but that is when the Holy Ghost gave Elder Shanklin some good ideas! I used the idea of the Bible being like a point. How many lines can you draw through a singular point? Infinite. However if I have two points, how many lines can I draw? One. With the Bible and the Book of Mormon together we have one answer to one question. We do not have to guess what a Bible or Book of Mormon verse means because when both books confirm each other and clarify each other we not what the answer is! He said he would read the Book of Mormon and that we could meet on Tuesday! Ring 1 is complete!
Ring 2! Andrea! English/Norwegian!
We met Andrea on the street and she belongs to the Pinsi church! She was very nice and invited us over for dinner! She was super awesome and had a lot of good questions! We had dinner with her and then her cousin showed up. As we talked they were very surprised to see that I had a very good understanding of the Bible and verses and things like that. Although they were not super receptive, they were really nice, and hopefully one day they will give the Book of Mormon a shot!
Ring 3! Eduardo! Spanish!
Eduardo came to church on sunday on his own. He only speaks spanish, and moved from Madrid to Norway! He has visited the church a couple times, but only in Madrid. We have a couple members who speak spanish and they were able to help us get to know him a little and were able to translate for him. Suddenly though I found myself alone with him, and thought "Well I need to get an appointment!" With the two memorized sentences that Sister Pond taught me in Tromsø, I was able to ask if he wanted to talk to someone who could speak spanish that could teach him more about our church? He said Si! After that I used the days of the week song from spanish class to get an appointment for tuesday! If you translated what I said into English this is what I said, "Here... Tuesday... Five..." Thank goodness that we have some Elders in the mission that speak spanish! It will be awesome! So basically at this point I am trilangual, I know pretty impressive!
| How we get around |
This week was really good and we are looking forward to the teaching opportunities we will have this week! Wish us luck! I am hoping that we will be able to bring the spirit into the lessons, so they can come to know the the Book of Mormon is the word of God!!!!
