The Refiners Fire-Oslo Week Thirty Six

Well well well this week was a little different than any other week that I have had on my mission. Does anyone remember the Bronco vs Seahawks game? You know the one were Payton Manning got destroyed? Great game if you do not like the Broncos! However at this point I feel a little like Payton Manning...
Shout Outs
1. Swedish People! Read the paragraph dedicated to them and you will understand why!
2. Norway demolished in the Olypmics!
3. Soon to be Elder Hull is entering the MTC soon! We expect and know great things are to come!

How are your investigators doing??
Ia and Ariel went to see the Northern Lights in Alta this week, and they did see them, so we did not meet with them this week. However, they are progressing quickly and hope that Ariel will accept a baptismal date soon! Vedbjørn just disappeared off the face of the planet, but do not worry we will find his address and hunt him down!

Is there still a lot of snow??

Lots of snow, like a ton! This is the most snow Oslo has had in a while, and it just keeps on coming!

How long is the B of M musical going to be in Norway??   Are you still going over there several times a week?
Well it was supposed to stop in April, but because it is selling out every night it is going to be here until December, with every night be sold out!

What did you buy yourself for your birthday??
I have a video showing all the stuff I bought! Hopefully y'all can watch that!
Carters American Cereal for his birthday and the Zelda pj's

What is your favorite thing you learned from your personal studies this week??
My favorite thing I learned from personal study was when Captain Moroni is sending an epistle to Pahoran who he believes has become a traitor to his country and is just sitting relaxing on the judgement seat. Three things I love about reading these:
1. Moroni spits straight fire in that epistle! So powerful!
2. Pahoran does not get upset! I mean if I just had people rebel against me and kick me off the judgment seat because I was trying to be righteous, and then my chief captain, a really good friend, starts calling me a traitor I would be pretty ticked! However Pahoran is just super happy that Moroni is still righteous and that Moroni can come and help him restore Pahoran to the Judgement seat!
3. Verse 11
11 Behold, could ye suppose that ye could sit upon your thrones, and because of the exceeding goodness of God ye could do nothing and he would deliver you? Behold, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain.
I will explain this verse and I love it in a few seconds!
20 hours of finding later...
So this week was a little bit of a butt kicking. We had the most finding we could. We contacted on the Tbanes, buses, walking, standing, basically anywhere we could whenever we had time. Even if we only had 5 minutes we would contact! It was hard and I bet you are all asking the question, well what blessings did you receive because of this? How many new investigators? How many phone numbers? How many Conversations about the gospel? Well folks sorry to disappoint but the answer to all those questions is zero! There was no one willing to talk to us about the Gospel I heard no thanks, busy, not interested more times this week than I think I will here it in my life! However blessings did come! No, no one magically sent us a text saying the wanted to be baptized, no one decided to meet with us, and no, no one took of Book of Mormon, but we were blessed! I learned that if I want things to happen I can not sit at home and do nothing! Just as Moroni said to Pahoran, we can not just sit on our rumps and assume that God is gonna bless us! Although we have had no results from this past week the blessings was greater than anything I have received. I received the blessing of knowing that My Father in Heaven was proud of me. I had done my part, and just because nobody was changed by that does not take away from the work that I am doing. What I have learned this week is to trust in My Father and just do what i am supposed to and  what happens happens! God is great, good, and all powerful but I gotta do my part first! I am not finishing my mission with "I wish i would have"s, but with the knowledge that I have done my part and what happened was what was supposed to happen!

PULLED PORK!!!!
On a little less serious note, but still important, a member made us pulled pork with Baby Ray's bbq sauce! #ManaFromHeaven!
Elder Shanklin and his companion
Swedish People!
If not for them I might have died this week. None of them wanted to know more about the Gospel, but we had some fun and good conversations and it was really cool to talk to them in Norwegian and they speak Swedish back! Super cool that I can talk to people that speak a different language!
Well that about wraps up this week! So just have a good week and remember sometimes life is just gonna be rough! Remember though that The Savior never promised it would be easy, but He does promise it will be worth it!
Love ya peeps!

Dream Big
Don't Doubt
Give 'em Heaven!
