Of Course We Baptize In Norway-Tromso Week Twenty Two

Well this week was an fantasmaglorious week! I am very glad to have the Lord's support in this work! There are so many small miracles that happen to just help me to understand more and more that the Lord guides his work!

Thanksgiving plans? We will be going to the Millers! WOOOO Exciting!

Worst thing that happened this week? *Seeing finding day Ari*

Best place to visit in Tromsø? Good question, I would have to say hiking Tromsdalstiden because you get a wonderful view of everything! Or just going on drives with Elder Miller to random beautiful fjords!

Rouven's Baptism!

It was an incredible a night and everything went perfectly! When we first got to the pool though, like 30 minutes early, there way a swim team in it and one of the workers told us they had it all night... I was like "No no they do not", however those words did not leave my mouth! We went and talked to one of the coaches and he said oh yeah we will be out by 6! Yay! Well everything went smoothly. I kinda forget which hand was left and which had is right, but after I figured that out it was great! We had waffles at the church afterwards! It was an exciting night! He also was given the Gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday! Finally he bore his testimony about how he had come to know that this church was true. He said that when he was 11 his mother had died and he was confused about how God could let someone was a believer and actively went to church die. He said he fell away from church for that reason. He then that he decided to study abroad in Norway and then right before he came learned his Grandmother was sick. He came to Norway and learned that his Grandmother had passed away. He then felt a need to go to centrum for no apparent reason. That is when he met me and Elder Rumsey. He said that he was very reluctant to meet at first with us. However, when he was trying to get home to his grandmother's funeral his flight got cancelled. A silent prayer was said with the promise that if it was answered he would follow God's path. That prayer was answered and after meeting with us he found what he was looking for. A loving God who had a plan! Rouven knows that this church is true and that God is truly our loving heavenly father. It brings much peace and joy to my soul!

Finding Day

So we had a finding day on Wednesday which was prefaced by a fast on Tuesday. We were supposed to find for at least 4 hours on Wednesday but since we are over achievers we went for 5 and 1/2 hours! We had an awesome day!
Sharing the Book of Mormon

Ari

So we talked to this Norwegian guy who was really opened even though he was an atheist! It was really awesome to see that he was open! He took a Book of Mormon and a pamphlet on the restoration and then gave us his phone number. Well we called his phone number on Sunday and it was the wrong number..... Really sad but he has the Book and knows what to do with it!

(Transfers came in and Both I and Elder Fowler are staying here!)
These two are staying in Tromso

Enjoying their time together

Elina

She was a young lady we met while out banking and she was really interested in what we had to teach about the Plan of Salvation and she took and Book and was going to read Alma 42 which explains our belief in the Plan of Salvation! We are going to check up on her this week and see how she is doing!

Random guy we found at the bus stop that said he had met with us before but got busy with an internship but wants to meet again now! YAY! Miracles!! WOOT WOOT!

Overall this week was amazing! I had a grand time everyday trying to make sure that the baptism and all the small details where okay, but also doing the Lord's work!

Reindeer sighting #2

This week we all said goodbye to a very dear friend, Brother Kendall Wallace. The scripture I am reminded of is in Alma 24: 46

"...and those who had been slain were righteous people, therefore we have no reason to doubt but what they were saved."

Brother Wallace's example of righteousness and service was found everyday in his life! He never complained or whined but tackled his challenges head on. I have not a single doubt in my mind that he has returned to live in that state of paradise, or as in Alma 40: 12

"...a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow."

We will miss him, but we are joyous to remember how great the plan of our God is!

Dream Big
Don't Doubt
Give 'em Heaven,
