Wassup folks and welcome to another week of "What's up in Tromsø?" First to answer a few questions that I have received from my adoring public (Hi Mom). When it comes to the topic of sunlight and sleeping, we can see the sun almost all day. At night the sun kinda of disappears but it is not dark. We do have curtains to keep the light out though so all good! Also for all those reading this email a piece of advice. Try. That's it. To those of you who are not members of the LDS church I encourage you to just try meeting with the missionaries and try the things they ask you to do. For those of you that are members, try your hardest to keep that fire burning. Do not wait for the fire to become small and then restock it. Keep that fire a bonfire and let others to see it! Try to be that light that others can come to. Also try to share the gospel the only way you know what someone will say is if you try! Shout out to my boy Austin for entering the MTC this week! THe people of Yakima are lucky to have a stud like him! Alright well this week was a magical week so lets get rolling!

Tuesday
We had a district meeting and we did a practice. We practiced interviewing people for baptism, and we each were given a person to pretend to be. I will not tell you the whole story but if you just look at this picture it will tell you who I was (Vegas) and who Sister Stolp, who I interviewed, was.
Wednesday!
So btw our key broke to our apartment so it was always unlocked. So the Zone leaders were coming for splits so we went to buy some food. We forgot the keys so we had to climb up our fire escape because our apartment has a outerdoor you have to unlock to get into the building. Well we forgot to leave a window unlocked so we had one of our neighbors go into our apartment and open the window for us! Fun times! When the Zone Leaders got here we went straight to work. I was with Elder Hadley the first day and we got some good work done! We went to check up on Katrina, she was from a few letters ago, who was finally home from vacation. We found her house and sadly she was at work but another day we will check up again! We then went banking and a young man named Torstein said he did not have time but if we came back next Thursday at 5:00 he would talk to us more! He took a Book of Mormon and said he would read Alma 32! WAHOOOO! The magic is only just beginning though!!
Thursday!
Today I was companions with Elder Osguthorpe! We went to a budgeting meeting about spending money wisely, and then went to get hamburgers because we had been budgeting so well! It was a really cool old video game themed restaurant, so I was right at home! After that me and Eldste Osguthorpe went to our teach with a man named Leonard. We sent up an appointment with Leonard because he was a street contact from previous Missionaries. When we called them to ask about him, they said he was very contentious and did not really want to learn. We then prepared to teach him the first lesson and hoped that he would not try to argue! Leonard showed up and we had a fanflippinmagical teach with him!! He had a few questions but none of the questions he asked where trying to start a arguement! He said he would read in the Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:3-5 and Alma 32! He said he would also pray to see if the Book of Mormon is true!! I was so excited! He also agreed to meet with us this Thursday as well! That means we got another new Investigator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tromsø + Splits = MAGIC!! Oh, but wait, it does not stop there. We went out contacting after the teach, and we contacted a mother who had a 1 week old baby! The mothers name was Tanya but her daughter did not have a name yet! SHe talked to us and she said right now life was a little hectic with the new baby but she would call us for sure when things calmed down! She was very interested in learning about how families can be together forever! Side not we also talked to a man from Stavanger and he after we finished talking he looked quizically at my name tag. I then asked if he had seen that name before and he said yeah! I then asked if he remembered talking to a tall blond missionary with glasses and he said that he had! I guess I met the same guy Brady did a couple years ago!! Funny how things like that happen!
Friday
Nothing too exciting just a normal day in our life! We did have another great teach with Idris! He is such a wonderful and loving man! He truly does try to be like Christ in anyway he can!
Saturday
We went out to help out a farm and we took down a fence and helped feed the goats! It was way good to help people out and give service! I got to name one of the goats, and her name is Joan the Conquerer! I know I am great and naming animals! THe best part was feeding all 163 goats at the same time! I had an awesome time there!

Sunday
Getting to church was a little crazy because of a bike race called the Arctic Race! We did get to church on time and we actually had a family visiting from North Carolina! They gave there testimonies and one of the members of our branch translated for them! After church we went to a members, Inger-Elizabeth, and she fed us dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First member dinner and it was amazing she made some amazing kjøtt, or meat, and pasta! It was awesome! After that we went to give sacrament to a homebound member and then we went home at 9 and called it a night!

This week was full of amazing opportunities given to me and my companions by the Lord! I have learned that those weeks were it seems like nothing is going your way is the Lords way of testing you. He wants to make sure that you are willing to work before he gives you those blessings. I believe that the Lord will put people in my path that I need to talk to, but only if I am willing to talk to every single person on the street! The secret to accomplishing anything is consistent work! Continue to work hard and the Lord will bless you with more blessings than you can count!
| Oh the joy the gospel brings |
This work I am doing is one the most sacred and important work on this planet. I am trying "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man". That is the same as God's work and glory. If you think for a second that there is something more important just think to the prophet Joseph Smiths quote, "After all that has been said, the greatest and most important duty is to preach the gospel". I am not out here because it would be a cool trip to go to Norway. I am out here serving my God and my Savior because there are people in Norway who need to know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored, through the prophet Joseph Smith, to the earth once more. That families can be together forever. And that most of all they have a loving Heavenly Father that loves them. So I will do as Elder Holland asked. "Just reach down, pull up your socks, and go to work. This is a time for you to go out... Start fast. Run hard, and to the tape! You can rest later." -Elder Holland. I love you all and wish you the best!
