NORWAY IS SO FANTASMAGLORIOMAGICAL!!!-Tromso Week Nine

All right before we get into the week a few shout outs! First off my boy Austin Heaton is going into the MTC!!! He is straight up going to kill it as a missionary! Second, the man himself Jaden Lorenc got his mission call to BRAZIL!! The people of Brazil got really lucky getting such a stud! Third, Eric Clarke, the legend, is going into the MTC soon as well! The MTC is going to be so legit!! Fourth shout out, and the final one, is that Norwegian waffles are the bomb! THey have special waffle irons that make the waffles thin and crisp! After that you put some sour cream, jam of your choice, and some brown cheese, and bam that is a masterpiece!! Alright this week was a little bit chaotic but still way fun and full of hard work!!

Monday

We went on a car drive around the Tromsø area and it was the most beautiful thing on the planet... I am sorry but there is no place on earth that comes even close to the beauty of Norway! There was a sad experience as Eldste Rumsey accidentally formatted his camera with 2000 pictures from the beginning of his mission that he did not really back up a lot of... Luckily we have a tech savy member in our ward who is pretty sure he can get the pictures back!! WAHOO!!

Tuesday

We gave out a Book of Mormon! We talked with a young man probably in his 20s, and when I mean we talked I mean mostly Eldste Rumsey talked. He had a really strange dilect and talked very fast, quietly, and with big words. He does not live in Tromsø but the next time he is in Tromsø he said he would give us a call!

Wednesday

We traveled to Zone conference today and we stayed in the apartment above the Assistants'. We had dinner with the APs and Eldste Ashby made some really good Alfredo sauce with chicken! It was so delicious! After that we went to our room and chilled with a bunch of other Elders in our Zone! It was good because I got to see Eldste McCourt again! It was so good to see him and talk with him about how life in Norway is going! Oh and get this since the Zone conference was in Oslo I saw the moon for the first time in three weeks!!!

Thursday

Zone conference was way awesome! I learned a lot about how to contact and how to do door approaches! I think we will have a lot greater success as a mission because of this! We have so many awesome Elders and Sisters here and I can not wait to serve with them even more!! I was also given a watermelon ukulele from Elder Braunberger, Eldste McCourt\s trainer. So I guess I will be learning to play that!

Isn't this funny???

Friday

Eldste Rumsey was sick so I just stayed in and did a lot of studying, a lot of studying, and did I mention I studied? Highlight of the week!!! I taught my first lesson with an investigator! His name is Idris and he is from Syria so we teach him in English! He is one of the most kind and genuine people I have met in my life. He really cares for others more than he does about himself, he said we are here to help eachother in this life not harm eachother. He truly embraces the idea of trying to live like Christ! We taught him about following Christ example and he loved it and we had a great lesson! Please pray for Idris if you can!

Saturday

Nothing too exciting happened on Saturday. We went out and did the Normal missionary things but not much success! We are going to keep working because there are people here in Tromsø that need the Gospel and the only way to find 'em is to talk to every single person we can!

Sunday

It was fast sunday and our members gave wonderful testimonies! I feel so blessed to be in a branch with so many amazing, devoted members of the church! Idris also came to church today. I forgot to mention that we teach Idris over Skype because he lives about 6 hours away from us, and we are the closest missionaries! He skyped into church and it was awesome that he was able to make it! I also met some people who were visiting and one of them served with Brady and Allison! His name is Enbredt, that could be completely wrong but there will be a picture attached!
A former Norwegian missionary

I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be in Norway and serve the people here! A mission is hard especially in Norway because it takes a lot of work to find people to teach. It seems like for every person that will talk to us there are about 15 that say they are not interested. The thing is all it take to find people is work and not being afraid to talk! It is hard having someone tell you they are not interested but you will never know if they are interested or if they are not interested unless you ask! That is the secret of missionary work right there, ask, try, and then do it over and over again!
