City of Miracles-Tromso Week Eleven

Before I talk about my week, I want to wish everything good luck in school! Get good grades and do your homework! But wow this week has been, simply put, a blessed one! We have experience so many miracles, that I know realize why Tromsø is called "The City of Miracles"! We have had such an amazing week that I am gonna have trouble keeping this short. So buckle up, because we are in for a long one folks!

Monday

Alright so we almost missed our flight to first transfer training because we were told that our flight was Tuesday but when we rechecked it was on Monday, but we made it safely to Oslo! First transfer training is a special meeting for new missionaries and there trainers and it gives us an opportunity to learn more about missionary work! That night nothing too exciting happened. Just did the normal routine in Oslo and went to bed!
First training meeting in Oslo

Tuesday

First day of first transfer training! I got see all my friends from the MTC! I was so happy! I missed them a lot and it was great catching up with them! So we broke out into little groups to learn about different methods of finding people to teach! At one of the groups we were calling people that past missionaries had taught and then for one reason or another they stopped meeting with that individual. We were asked to find someone to call and try to get an appointment with them, we would only have time to call one person. It was a little scary, but me and Eldste Putt picked a random name and felt like this could be the one! When we called he said he would love to meet and actually would like a Book of Mormon in Polish if that was possible! It was amazing to see how the Lord's hand is in everything even in one small simple phone call! We also practice knocking on doors, and I learned that sometimes instead of just going straight into the Gospel sometimes you just have to talk to them as a friend!
MTC friends reunited!!

Wednesday

First transfer training part II! I learned so much more about how to be a better missionary, and I also learned that I can do things on my own! When we were on the train to go to the airport I talked a young man named Sean! We talked a little about how he was a student in Oslo and then he asked why I was in Norway. I was able to talk to him about our church and what we believed and at the end he said if he saw missionaries on the street in Oslo he would love to talk with them because how nice and sincere I was! We also talked to a girl named Joy on the plane ride home and it was nice because talking to her was in English because she was from Minnesota!

Cool kid!!

Thursday

We had another lesson with Leonard and taught him the plan of salvation! We also went to check up on Torstein, who if any of you remember was the young man that me and Eldste Hadley meet when they were here and he told us to come back next Thursday! When we went to check up on him, we knocked twice and no answer, but then decided, why not just on more time. We knocked once more and Torstein answered the door and told us that he was in the bathroom when we knocked. We talked to him about the plan of salvation and he was really interested! It was awesome!!

Friday

Normal day. Nothing too exciting. I did finish the Book of Mormon! Always good when that happens! It always strengthens me and helps my testimony grow!

Saturday

There was a Music festival in Tromsø! It was awesome because there were like a bajillion people on the street! We went contacting for four hours and just talked to everybody! We talked to some awesome people and gave out 4 Book of Mormons to four people who said they would meet with us next week! After all the commotion on the streets died down at around 5 we were sitting and talking with the Sister Missionaries and then two teenage girls just came and stood next to us. I asked them if they had any questions for us and they did. They asked if we were missionaries and we told them we were. They also wanted copies of the Book of Mormon, at that point there were four teenage girls, two joined. We only had two copies so we said if they came to the Church we could get them some more. They agreed and when we got into the Church building there were now ten teenagers! It was a little strange, because people do not come and talk to us in Norway... They wanted to know what our favorite part of being LDS was and we all spoke about how knowing about God's plan for us has blessed us so much! They were all very respectful, and I feel they genuinely wanted to know! Not gonna lie it kinda felt like on of those moments where Christ and His Apostles are teaching groups of people in the temple or the wilderness. It was legendary!!!!

One more with our friends

Sunday
Normal Sunday! Always good to see everybody from the branch again! The sisters had a referral from a girl who had been an exchange student in Utah and she took missionary lessons there! She also had a friend there and they are both 17 or 18 and are awesome and so much fun to talk to!!

This week the Lord has blessed me so much! I have seen his hand in too many ways to count, think, or write about! This Gospel is my favorite thing in the entire world and I am willing to sacrifice anything to share it with the people in Norway! I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, and I know that Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, lives.
