Jeg Kom, Jeg Så, Jeg Beseiret (I came, I saw, I conquered)-MTC Week Three

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOMMA!!!!!!!!!! Don't think I forgot! This week has been a great week and I have a lot of stuff to share, so lets get into it!
I received this package in the mail from Elder Shanklin
for my wedding anniversary!!

Friday
First of we got new Elders on Wednesday, and I can't remember if I already said this but one of the new missionaries looks identical to Andy Sandberg. It is a little frightening... Also, judge if you want but when you have 40 elders in one hallway weird things happen, we were all jumping to see if we could hit the ceiling tiles (they are just like the ones at the church that pop off if you push them up) with our heads. We then may or may not have decided to see if we could lick the ceiling... It was late at night at we are teenage boys cut us some slack...
Elders....GQ style.  Is that a thing???

Saturday
We did service in the morning. First thing I have to say is, Mom I am so sorry for all the cleaning you had to do... We cleaned these rooms and I have to tell you they were nasty: uneaten food that was moldy, they left dirty socks, dirty clothes, and trash. It was awful... It did feel good to do service though!! Besides that nothing really all that exciting happen besides I scored  a goal when we played soccer! Basically Messi at this point.
Laundry Day!!

Sunday
I was called to be a Zone Leader btw, I forgot to say that! We had an awesome sacrament meeting and one of the Swedish Sisters, Sister Hickman! She sang "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing", it was amazing and I felt the spirit so strongly! As she was singing it really reminded me of my Dad so it was way awesome! President and Sister Lord were the speakers at the Sunday night devotionafl! I really enjoyed his talk and the take away I had was that the difference between being called or being chosen is if we decide to walk with Christ or not.

Monday
Okay not trying to brag, but I am getting pretty good at volleyball. I had an awesome dig on a spike from Elder Naef (He and a bunch of other Elders played volleyball in High school and when they get a good set their spike is basically death approaching). I enjoy playing but I am pretty sure if I get hit in the face with one of those spikes you all might be seeing me sooner rather than later... Today instead of language study we had a mission president, President and Sister Fox (going to Tahiti), who are here for the mission president seminar, teach us about how important it is to address the concerns and questions investigators have and then tie that into a baptismal invitation! We also learned past tense that night. It made sense but there are like 3000000000000000000000 irregular verbs... Norwegian is great but sometimes the grammar rules hurt my head :)...

Tuesday
We learned a lot today about how important it was to know scriptures we can share with an investigator. So since the mission president seminar was going on almost all of the Quorum of the 12 and first presidency were at the MTC (I did not see any of them roaming campus, they didn't do that at all actually). But we were able to hear President Bednar speak!!! Also on the stand with him was Elders Holland, Christofferson, Cook, Ballard, Stevenson, Renlund, Oaks, Anderson, and Rasband! It was so cool to hear from Elder Bednar and in all honesty all I can tell you about what he said is that there is no way Joseph Smith could have written the book of mormon. What Elder Bednar shared with us was an intricate pattern woven through the book of mormon that no one, not even Shakespeare could have written. Think about it even Shakespeare made a mistake in his writing. Look it up in Julius Caeser Shakespeare wrote that the clock struck three, in Julius Caeser's time there were not any clocks. Its amazing how the book of mormon literally has no flaws, meaning the only way it could have come forth is through God's power.
Too lazy to get a spoon

Wednesday
We learned about Past tense again and now it makes a lot more sense. I will say I was a little groggy in the morning because I ate three donuts. I do not regret eating those donuts every single one of them was worth it.  We played kickball because the gym was closed but it was still really fun to play! We also taught TRC again today, which is when we as missionaries teach people who are members that speak Norwegian. I was able to teach Brock Jones, who knows Brady, and then two of our Sisters, Sister Belus and Wheeler, taught Josh Jefferies, he was with Allison in the MTC and they were the only two missionaries! Also we got one of our investigators, our teacher pretending to be one of there investigators from the mission, to set a baptismal date!
Trading ties

Well another week has gone by and I am still not in Norway, a little sad. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to learn and grow in the MTC! I know that this gospel is true, that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and I know that Families can be together for ever. Again I invite everyone to schedule a time to meet with the missionaries for a few minutes and just hear them out! I promise if you do that you can find so much more joy and happiness in this life!!

Work Hard
Play Hard
Return with Honor,
