I'm The Attractive One- MTC Week Two

This week has flown by and all the days seem like the same day, to be honest hahahaha!! I am loving it here and just like the song says "There is no place I'd rather be". Also, the toilet seats at the MTC are the greatest things ever, I'll just leave it at that. Oh by the way, to all my adoring public sending me mail, my address is wrong on LDS.org or wherever you got it from my address is the one on this email listed below! Without further a due let's dive into the week!

There is no place I'd rather be!!

Friday

I had an awesome day on Friday! I got a package... from Trish Jellen! Yeah I literally have no idea who that is but she sent me temple names and some sour patch kids so I won't complain! (mom note: Trish is my sister in laws, sister in law!!)We also learned about the investigators we will be teaching. Our investigators are just our teacher pretending to be someone they taught on their mission.

I have been playing some volleyball, king of the courts, and let me tell you there are some people here that know how to play volleyball... I have almost died trying to block some spikes... We sang songs as we showered, songs such as Merry Christmas, Jingle bells, and Sweet Caroline! Me and Aldste Lee (he is a swedish missionary who is a stud at volleyball) did a magic show and did the trick with the 9 cards in a three by three rows and you can "read each others mind" and pick the card the audience picked while your partner was outside of the room!

Just a little tired!
Saturday

In Class in the morning Sister Isaksen taught us, she is actually from Norway! We learned a lot about the culture of Norway and I honestly could get on a flight right then and there! When we were walking the Sisters back to their dorm one of the Sisters said "I can see qualities of all my guy friends in you guys!" To which I responded, without thinking too much about what I was going to say " I'm the attractive one". I'm hilarious!! Also being a setter in volleyball is way fun.

Sunday

Alright so we had Donny Osmond speak to us at our Sunday devotional. Everyone was like no way Donny Osmond that guy is an amazing singer... yeah I literally had no clue this guy even existed. That was until I learned a very crucial fact, you know Captain Chang on Mulan, well he voiced him and sang "Let's Get Down to Business". Yeah I fangirled so what so would you. Funny part of his devotional is he said he was gonna talk about five things, then proceeded to list four and did not realize it until a missionary in the front row told him hahaha!! I also sat next to President Gilbert and his wife at the lunch! They were super cool to talk to and they were mission presidents in South Korea and they knew Craig Chandler when he was there so that was really cool!!

Monday

I learned from Brother Nellson, someone who works higher up in the MTC, that we need to have a culture of obedience not just make obedience a check list. Also shout out to Ryker for the super cool drawing of Link from the WindWaker that kid is a stud!

My Anniversary Gift from Eldste Shanklin
Tuesday

We had an awesome devotional from Elder Hallstrom and I learned a lot. First off I learned what it means to be a missionary, we are doing what Christ would do if he were on the Earth right now. Also I learned that we need to have a certain mentality, "I am here, I am yours, Teach me". When we have this mentality I really think that we can truly learn what God wants us to do! I also learned from President Coombs, our branch president, that we either need to "Put up, or Shut up". We cant mope around and say "Wo is me", turn outward and you will be blessed!

Wednesday

I got to host new missionaries coming in but sadly I did not get to host Elder Clarkson. I hosted two Elders, Elder Griffey going to the Aracdia, California Mission, and Elder Veers going to the Fortworth, Texas mission. Elder Veers had a tablet so I stood outside baking in the sun for a good 35-40 mintues while he set it up.... maybe one day if he becomes the prophet we can have a good laugh about it hahaha!!We taught TRC that night, which is when you teach members a lesson you have prepared in your language!! I taught Sister Alyssa Gates and Brother Hill, both of them served/remember Brady and Alison from their missions!! I was able to take a picture with Elder Clarkson so it was sweet to be able to see him!! I also met Sister Joseph one of Kennedy's friends from philmont! I was opening the door for a group of Sisters and one asked me do you have a Sister named Kennedy and I confusingly told her yes. Then when I realized how she knew Kennedy we had an awesome conversation!

Choir practice is amazing Brother Eggert is the guy in charge and he is so funny and spiritual! He explains backgrounds of songs and it is completely awesome!! I feel as if instead of it being choir it is just a institute or seminary class but we just sing a little more!!

Also Happy Birthday to Grandpa Shanklin!! Hope everything is going well for you guys!!

BTW MY MAILBOX IS NOT 256 IT IS 257 AND JUL17 NOT JUL18

Well another week gone by! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I feel strongly to ask all of you to take a small portion of your day and meet with the missionaries. They are great people who are there to help you! I promise if you meet with them you won't regret it!
